What is MJCA? - The Missouri Junior Cattlemen's Association is a group of young leaders involved in the beef cattle industry that come together for fun educational and leadership opportunities!! Who can be a MJCA member? - Membership in the MJCA is limited to Juniors who have not yet reached their 22nd birth date before January 1 of the calendar year. How much is a MJCA membership? - There is an annual fee of $10 to be a member of the MJCA. When does MJCA meet? - MJCA meets twice a year - at the MCA All-Breeds Show and MCA Convention. - - - - - - - - - -

Becoming an MJCA Board Member Who? - Any MJCA member between the ages of 16 and 20 is eligible for a position on the Junior Board of Directors What? - Board members will meet about 4 times a year to give direction to the junior association and plan events and activities. Board members are expected to help with the MCA All-Breeds Junior Show, junior activities at the MCA Convention, and other events as needed. Also, board members may have the opportunity to attend Youth Beef Industry Council, which is held every other year. How? - Elections will be held during the annual meeting during the MCA All-Breeds Junior Show. To be eligible for election, applicants must complete and return an application. One director will be elected from each of the four regions and two at-large positions will be available, all for two year terms. Update - June 2007 The highlight of the show for four exhibitors came during the championship drive on Sunday. Named overall Grand Champion Heifer was “Paisley”, a Chianina heifer exhibited by Ryan Hewkin of Cuba. Derek Paradeis of Sarcoxie, received bragging rights as his Simmental steer, Trooper S19, weighing 1320 pounds, won Overall Grand Champion Steer. Sam Wallace of Stotts City claimed the Reserve Champion Heifer, with his Angus heifer named WCC Primrose 586. Ryan Hewkin took home a second trophy as his Crossbred steer, “Jager”, weighing 1260 pounds won Reserve Champion Steer. |
